MAAMWI BMOSEDAA - WALKING IN UNITY

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional territory of Nipissing First Nation in which our organization resides on. This nation has lived harmoniously with these lands and waters for generations. Today it is home to many different Indigenous people and other people. We respect the ongoing connection from the past, present, and future, along with our ongoing relationships with the Indigenous and other people within the community in which we have had the privilege to serve since July, 2020.

Our motto, Maawi Bmosedaa – “Walking in Unity” – guides all that we do. We believe that healing and growth happen through relationships built on care, respect, and shared purpose. Through ceremony, land-based learning, and consistent support, we nurture the connections between youth and Elders, families and communities, and the land and spirit.

Our Mission

In Anishinaabemowin, "Endaayaan" means "home where I live," and "Awejaa" translates to "that good feeling of home." Together, they reflect our commitment to creating spaces that feel like home for Indigenous youth and families.

We are a 2Spirit-led, grassroots non-profit organization based in North Bay, Ontario. Our mission, encapsulated in the Anishinaabemowin phrase Maamwi Bmosedaa — meaning "Walking in Unity" — is to provide Indigenous youth and families with safe spaces to heal, grow, and build solid foundations for their futures.

Endaayaan Awejaa integrates pillars of arts & culture, reconciliation, education, and harm reduction into all our programs and services.

Over nearly five years, we’ve supported hundreds of Indigenous youth, families, and community members through:

  • Care Packages & Medicine Bundles

  • Arts & Cultural Programming

  • Educational & Life Skills Workshops

  • Land-Based & Traditional Teachings

  • Culturally-Grounded Support Services

  • Youth Wellness Council & Mentorship

  • Student Placement & Volunteering

  • 2SLGBTQIA+ Safe Spaces

Our Story

Founded in July 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Endaayaan Awejaa emerged from a recognized need for culturally safe support systems for Indigenous youth in our community. We are working towards creating an Indigenous youth home that includes culture teachings, counselling, mentorship, workshops and activities to promote healthy living and engage youth towards a path that caters to their strengths and sets them up for sustained success.

Help Us Support Indigenous Youth

As demand grows, we have launched the Walking in Unity campaign to raise $100,000 in support of three key areas: land-based cultural programming, cultural exchange, and organizational capacity.

Donate today and walk in unity with us – in culture, in community, in spirit.
